At about 7 kilometres north of Rimini is located Torre Pedrera, small and quiet hamlet by the sea reachable in a few minutes with the public means of transport.
Its name derives from the ancient tower that the Pontifical State built at the mouth of an old dry river in order to check the maritime activities and as an outpost of defence and sighting against the invasions of the Turks and of the Saracen pirates. The stones for the construction of the houses were mined from the bed of the river where the tower stood, from here the name of "Tower of the Pedrera" that became Torre Pedrera.
Families with children, groups of elderly people but also groups of young people, in Torre Pedrera will find everything they need to enrich their holiday with relax and fun.
The promenade of the waterfront is a meeting place during the day and especially in the evening, for relaxing walks under the moonlight between shopping in the shops that are always open, enjoying the specialities of the territory, an ice cream or a drink in one of the many clubs, pubs and restaurants open until late.
The calendar of events of Torre Pedrera proposes appointments throughout the year. From May to September, Monday is dedicated to the market of crafts and antiques; it will be great to browse through stands of every kind between antiques, handicrafts, colours and perfumes. For more than ten years now at the beginning of the summer the appointment with East-Coast-Festival gathering for all lovers of American cars and motorcycles. In July we celebrate the Feast of the Threshing with parade of antique farm carts for a re-enactment that brings back in time. Torre Pedrera participates together with the whole of the Riviera to the great Feast of the Pink Night of the first weekend of July, with events and music throughout the waterfront.
